Question on some lesser known alts

I know a lot of alt coins are ERC20s so they can easily be stored in edge secure wallet on the mobile, or another similar app that supports ERC20, but what about the lesser known coins that aren’t ERC20? If they don’t have a wallet specifically designed for that coin, do i have any other place to store my coin other than a sketchy exchange? To add to that apprehension, this coin is, for the most part, only available for trade on HitBC, which already raises a lot of red flags (not the coin but I’ve seen that exchanges reputation). So any solutions out there? For anyone wondering, the coin I’m talking about is SENT(sentinel), don’t get that confused with SENC for that is an ERC20. thanks!
